Anula Kołakowska

Since Anula was a little girl she has been learning various forms of dance, but when she finally got to know tap dancing it become the biggest passion of her life. Anula keeps developing her methods of work by participating in workshops and festivals all over the world. In 2013 Anula opened her own tap school TIP TAP in Warsaw, and since then she's regularly teaching, organizing workshops, Warsaw Tap Jam Sessions and Warsaw Tip Tap Run, which is the biggest tap event in Poland.
In 2015 Anula received a Heather Cornell scholarship and she participated in a two-week course Manhattan Rhythm Tap Intensive in New York. In 2016 Anula worked as a choreographer on the theatre production of Stepping Out in Och-Teatr in Warsaw. As a part of the „Stepersi” dance group Anula gives performances all over Poland, and she has been a guest performer in the show Usłyszeć Taniec (Hear the dance’)
"I am trying to promote tap dancing in Poland, to break the stereotypes and to show that one can tap dance always – no matter age, music or place. Improvisation, expression, coordination and technique – those are elements I consider as the most important."
